Art Cards by Walter Hoyle
Walter Hoyle was born in Lancashire and studied at Beckenham School of Art from 1938. He then gained a place at the Royal College of Art in 1940 where he studied under Edward Bawden. They became close friends and Hoyle later moved to Great Bardfield to live and work alongside Bawden. He held many exhibitions and his work is in collections such as the Tate Gallery. He taught at the Cambridge School of Art from 1964, placing great emphasis on printmaking until he retired in 1985.
