Gail Brodholt brings the 'placeless' everyday spaces to life. Born in London to a Norwegian father and a Trinidadian mother, works as a painter and linocut printmaker from her studio in Woolwich, south London. She has become a leading portrayer of contemporary urban landscapes using colour linocuts. Much of her work shows scenes of travel across London on London Transport tubes and trains. She is a member of the Royal Society of Printmakers and her work is on show at their gallery next to Tate Modern. She has been the recipient of many awards. She is the current Honorary Curator of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and says she is interested in the 'unconsidered and unnoticed places that people pass through'
