David Inshaw Art Cards & Prints

David Inshaw was born in Wednesfield, Staffordshire in 1943 but moved to Biggin Hill in Kent in 1950. He studied painting at Beckenham School of Art in from 1959 to 1963 and at the Royal Academy from 1963 to 1966. He taught painting and printmaking at the West of England College until 1975. Having moved to Devizes, in 1972, he formed an Association with painters Graham and Ann Arnold calling themselves the Broadheath Brotherhood and in 1975 this became the Brotherhood of Ruralists with the inclusion of Peter Blake, Jan Haworth and Graham and Annie Ovenden. He was appointed to a post in Creative Art at Trinity College Cambridge and so moved from Devizes to Cambridge. In 1977 he returned to Devizes, where he still lives and works and left The Brotherhood in 1983.
