Arthur Homeshaw

Arthur Homeshaw Art Cards

Arthur Homeshaw (1933 - 2011) illustator, printmaker and engraver was born in Bristol in 1933 and studied at the West of England College of Art, specialising in wood engraving. He later obtained his Art Teaching Diploma. After moving to Devon, he taught from 1957 through to his retirement in 1992. His linocuts are typified by their use of bold contrasts in tone and complex patterning. Arthus is widely regarded as one of the great linocut artists in recent years. His work reveals his strong love affair with the Devon countryside. His romantic style reveals the influence of artists such as Ravilious and in particular Paul Nash. Art cards published by Art Angels.
